APPLICATIONS

  1. Applications open on 30th January 2024. The deadline for applications to be submitted is midnight on 18th February 2024.
  2. Only one application should be submitted per person (or couple/family, where relevant).
  3. We will be selecting three different types of OS Champions: Community, Content and Outreach.
    The Expectations and Benefits for each type of Champion are set out below to help you tailor your application.
    You may specify in your application which type of Champion you feel you would fit in best, but OS will choose your final placement, if your application is successful.
    However, if you specify in your application that you would only like to be considered for the Community Champion role, we will not select you to be a Content or Outreach Champion, which require higher levels of commitment.
  4. Applications should be made by completing and submitting the form set out at the link provided on our OS social media channels, which may also be sent to you directly via email, if you are subscribed to the OS newsletters and/or you are an existing OS Champion. We regret that we cannot accept applications by post or email.
  5. Applications must include:

  6. Any incomplete applications will not be accepted. OS takes no responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction or other problem which may result in lost, incomplete, late or misdirected entries.
  7. Applications that relate to, or contain, illegal, unethical or offensive conduct or content, infringe third party intellectual property rights, or otherwise fail to comply with these terms and conditions will be disqualified. This will be determined by OS, in its sole discretion, and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  8. Applicants who are successful and are selected to become an OS Champion will be representatives of OS. You must therefore declare on the application form where indicated, if there are any circumstances (including existing commercial arrangements or sponsorships) that OS should be aware of, that could give rise to a conflict of interest and / or adversely impact the goodwill and / or reputation of OS. Please be aware that OS may contact applicants in relation to this and / or undertake background checks to inform the decision as to the selection of the OS Champions.

SELECTION

  1. Completed applications will be passed to a panel comprising of members of OS. We are looking to select a total of approximately 75 OS Champions across the three Champion types. While we will select Champions in accordance with the expectations for each type, as set out at Clause 17 below, all Champions will be considered against the following criteria:

    • Commitment to their active outdoor lifestyle;
    • Ability to communicate campaign messages to a wider audience.
  2. Those people who we would like to talk to further and / or invite to become our OS Champions for 2024/25 will be notified by email no later than Friday 8th March 2024.
  3. If those selected do not respond after reasonable attempts have been made to contact them, or they decide to withdraw from the process, or their application is disqualified, OS reserves the right to select another applicant.
  4. If you are currently part of the OS Champion (2020-23) Cohort and you are not successful we will contact you in writing (in these circumstances, please be aware that you will need to remove the OS trademarks from your social media, blogs, email footers and other digital channels).
