Delivery and Returns

Our extended Christmas returns policy

To help you shop with confidence this festive season, we’ve extended our usual limit for returns. Any gift purchased between 15th October and 24th December 2024 can be returned up until 28th January 2025. For purchases made from 25th December onwards, our normal returns policy will apply.

Note that this does not apply to items that have been created specifically for you, such as Custom Made maps, which will only be refunded if damaged. The rest of our returns policy remains the same.



Christmas Delivery Recommendations

To receive your order in time for Christmas Day, Royal Mail recommend ordering before the following dates:

Custom Made, Framed & Canvas Products:

  • Orders must be placed by 15:00 12th December*

Custom Made, Paper Products:

  • Orders must be placed by 15:00 22nd December* (costs will apply on 1st class/courier/next day delivery)

All other products:

  • Standard Delivery (free of charge) – orders must be placed by 15:00 20th December*
  • 1st Class Delivery (costs apply) – orders must be placed by 15:00 20th December*
  • Courier (free on orders over £75, costs apply on orders under £75) – orders must be placed by 15:00 21st December*

Please note these dates are advised by our deliver partners Royal Mail, Evri and Parcelforce due to how busy they are this time of year we recommend ordering gifts as early as you possibly can.

*These dates are liable to change and dependent on information from Royal Mail, Evri and Parcelforce. We reserve the right to change cut-offs and disable free, 1st class, & courier delivery at any time and without warning.
The above does not apply to e-Gift cards and digital subscriptions.



Please note our warehouse teams will be taking a well-deserved break over the main festive season and order dispatch may be delayed as follows:

  • Custom Made, Framed & Canvas products: orders placed after 15:00 December 12th 2024 may not be dispatched until after January 9th 2025.
  • Custom Made, Paper products: orders placed after 15:00 December 22nd 2024 may not be dispatched until after January 2nd 2025.
  • All other products: orders placed after 15:00 December 20th 2024 may not be dispatched until after December 30th 2024.
  • The above does not apply to e-Gift cards and digital subscriptions.

Delivery times

Order before 3pm weekdays for...

  • Standard delivery in up to five working days
  • Next Day courier delivery on the next working day

Custom Made map orders will take one extra day for printing. Framed and canvas products are handmade and usually take 10-12 working days to dispatch. If you order on a bank holiday we'll start on your order on the next working day.

An estimated delivery date will be shown in checkout once you enter your address and pick a delivery option. For some types of orders such as multiple items we may upgrade your delivery option to a different carrier when this offers a better service.

Delivery outside the UK is not available.

Returns

For all returns, please contact Customer Services before returning any items. Select 'OS Maps/Shop' then 'Delivery & Returns'. You will need your contact information and order number.

Damaged, broken or incorrect items

If the item(s) are damaged or broken on delivery, they can be returned for a full refund or a replacement within 14 days from delivery. If the item you receive is not the one ordered, please return it within 14 days from delivery and we will send the correct ones as soon as possible.

Unwanted items

If you change your mind, you can return any item within 14 days from delivery. We will refund the purchase price, standard delivery charges and the cost of posting the product to us within 14 days of us receiving the product. Note that this does not apply to items that have been created specifically for you, such as Custom Made maps, which will only be refunded if damaged. Garmin Download Voucher products are also excluded.

OS Maps Premium subscriptions

You can cancel a new Premium subscription within 14 days of ordering it and we will refund your subscription. After 14 days we will not be able to refund your subscription.

If you have purchased a recurring Premium subscription through the web, you can cancel your next renewal at any time on your My Account page. If you have purchased a subscription through the app, it can only be cancelled through the app store provider. Please check the help for the relevant app store.

Electrical recycling and WEEE

You can recycle electrical and electronic devices bought from OS for free at your local recycling centre. To find your nearest centre, visit the Recycle More website and type in your postcode.

Why recycle?

Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste.

Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

We’re proud to support your local authority in providing local recycling facilities for electrical equipment. Electrical equipment that can be recycled is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.

What is WEEE?

The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.

How are we helping?

In the UK, retailers must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us by financially supporting the national network of WEEE recycling centres established by local authorities. This is achieved through membership of the national Distributor Take-back scheme (DTS).
