Silva

Silva invented the first ever liquid-filled compass in 1933, and is still at the forefront of compass, navigation and outdoor technology.

Gunnar Tillander invented the first liquid capsule compass in 1928, with his company Silva releasing it commercially in 1933. They had another first in 1939, releasing the first mirrored sighting compass. Since then Silva have developed other outdoor gear including headlamps, binoculars, map cases and more.
