Brecon Beacons - OS Short Walks Made Easy
Officially adopting its Welsh name of Bannau Brycheiniog in spring 2023, the Brecon Beacons National Park was established in 1957. It was the third national park in Wales and the tenth to be created in Britain. Covering an area of 519 square miles across South Wales, the national park embraces the hilliest terrain in southern Britain, ranging from Llandeilo to Abergavenny, and from Hay-on-Wye to Merthyr Tydfil.
